Hot on the heels of the Oscars success of British-Caribbean film director Steve McQueen comes another historic Caribbean film achievement in the UK.
Tell all your friends, the comedy-thriller film “Keeping Up With The Joneses: The Movie” hits Britain this month.
Based on the award-winning TV series, “KUWTJ: The Movie” will not only be the first Caribbean film premiere in the UK for 2014 but will be the first Barbadian feature film released in an official (BFI registered) UK cinema ever!
The London premiere will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday 27th March at the Picturehouse Cinema in Stratford (next to the Theatre Royal and the old Caribbean Scene restaurant). After its successful run on the small screen, the hit Caribbean TV series from Barbados “Keeping Up With The Joneses” (KUWTJ) has now moved to the big screen in the UK!
“KUWTJ: The Movie” is centred around the fictional Jones family (father Irving, mother Angela, daughter Tracy and son Nathan) who became famous after starring in a TV reality show. Life is going well but when the Joneses are kidnapped at a beach picnic, all seems to be lost. But hope is at hand when Angela’s brother and three of his friends from a local institution go on a mission to save them.
Including all the key faces from the popular TV series, this well scripted and sympathetically portrayed comedy-thriller film is full of excitement and laughs! This will be the first cinema premiere of a Caribbean film in the UK for 2014 and the first ever screening of a feature film from Barbados in an official (BFI-registered) British cinema!
